How To Style A Dress Three Ways

How To Style A Dress Three Ways

Look One: Dress // Earrings (Similar) // Heels

Look Two: Dress // Earrings // Cardigan (so cute!) // Mules (love these)

Look Three: Dress // Shirt // Sneakers (love these) // Hat

Have you ever found that one dress you wear on repeat and then can’t get enough of? Well I have found THAT dress! This Leith dress comes in so many different colors and can be worn for so many occassions.

I’ve always been really into trying to create different outfits with all of the pieces in my closet. I don’t know why but I’m not a fan of repeating the same outfit but LOVE repeating certain pieces and styling it in a different way. As a girl who is often on a budget, talk about student loans and rent 😦 I’ve always had to find ways to change up my wardrobe using what I’ve got.

In look one, I decided to just pair the dress with earrings and heels. It’s perfect for date night or even a more causal wedding.

For look two, I paired the dress with a cardigan and blush mules. This simple, casual look is comfy enough for travel and perfect for a day out shopping with your girls.

Finally, for look three I paired this Leith dress with a jean shirt, sequin sneakers and a ball cap. This look is perfect for exploring a new city, cheering at a baseball game or brunch with your babe.

I hope that these looks will help you look at your closet in a different way. Try finding those staple pieces that you have and see how many different ways you can style it. It’s a fun challenge that will keep you loving everything in your closet.

Activewear x Old Navy

Activewear x Old Navy

Happy Monday babes! I hope you all had a great weekend. Starting this week off sharing some of my favorite workout gear from Old Navy.

I’ve always tried different brands of activewear and have found it to be another part of my life that I love to style. A few years ago, I purchased activewear from Old Navy and from them I was sold. They always have the cutest pieces, vibrant colors, and tops and bottoms that can be work all different ways.

If you can’t tell, I’m really ready for spring. These bright colors have me in the mood for warm weather and sunshine. One of my favorite things about the warmer weather is that I can’t take my workouts outdoors. I love going to a long walk or jog, I sometimes even do my strength training or yoga outside.

Styling and creating outfits for your workout can motivate you. I find that when I feel good in what I’m wearing, I’m ready to get my workout on and SWEAT. If you’re having trouble finding the motivation to workout in this side winter slump, try finding some activewear pieces that give you confidence. You never know unless you try. πŸ™‚

Weekend at the Brewster Inn

Weekend at the Brewster Inn

For Christmas my Aunt gifted my boyfriend and I a weekend away at the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia, NY. Prior to this trip, I had never visited Cazenovia or the Brewster Inn, but was familiar with the area, as I went to college not far away.

This trip couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as I was in major need of a weekend away and some time to relax. When we arrived at the Inn, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. My first thought was “I totally feel like I’m in a Hallmark movie right now!” haha.

The Inn is full of rich history, nestled on Cazenovia Lake, and has a full wine cellar. Not sure it gets much better than that! During our stay we were able to take a tour of the wine cellar which is home to thousands of wines from across the country. We of course purchased a bottle to bring home with us, as a memory to keep from our trip.

I would highly recommend staying at the Brewster Inn if you’re in the Cazenovia or Central New York area. The town is filled with cute shops, the restaurant in the Inn is amazing and the view of the lake is breathtaking. This was surely a trip we will never forget.

Happy Monday! Sharing some of my favorites from the President’s Day sales going on today.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

To be completely honest, I totally dropped the ball on Valentine’s Day this year. Work has been so busy and it seems like the weekends fly by. Anyone else feeling this way? If you are, I have rounded up some last minute gifts for everyone on your list. You can shop all of these goodies at Target!

I am so obsessed with the RosΓ© candle. I mean come on! A candle that smells like wine?! It doesn’t get much better than that. I’m also thinking about grabbing the coupons for the bf. They have cute date ideas on them and it’s kind of like a gift for me too πŸ˜‰

I’ve always found Valentine’s Day to be special. Not because I’ve always had someone to share it with, but because I’ve always felt like you really can feel the love in the air.

How will you be spending your day or evening? If you don’t have plans, make time for yourself. Get out your favorite candle, buy yourself some pretty blooms (who says girls can’t buy flowers for themselves?), pour a glass of wine, put on your favorite tunes and set some time aside to love yourself. You’ll be so glad you did. Happy Valentine’s Day babes.

At the start of the New Year, I made a promise to myself to start loving the city I live in. I have lived in New York my whole life and have had moments of wanting to get as far away as I could but also moments of not wanting to ever leave.

I’ve spent time traveling across the country, started my college career down south, and have been to different parts of the state, but my heart has always called me back home.

I moved up to the Albany area about a year ago and my life changed in so many ways. I met my boyfriend about a week after moving here, lived in different apartments, changed jobs, and met new friends. I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made to start my own life here.

My journey to start loving and experiencing my city more started with State Street. At the heart of the city, this street is home to different shops, restaurants, hotels and ballrooms. As you reach the top, there’s an amazing view of the Capitol Building.

I challenge you, if you have ever felt this way, to find things that you love about your city. Branch out and try a new restaurant, shop in a new store and grab a drink at the trendiest bar. You never know what you’ll find or fall in love with πŸ™‚

Favorite Sunnies x Quay Australia

Favorite Sunnies x Quay Australia
I’m a true lover of a great pair of sunnies! I used to have such a hard time really finding styles that looked good on me.
Over the years, I started to find that I really love the way aviators look on me.
Fast forward to today and I think I’ve found my favorite pair so far!
These Quay Sunglasses are part of the collection by Desi Perkins. The frames are matte black with a black to purple gradient lens.
These sunglasses come in the mini size and are the Sahara style. I was debating on whether or not I wanted the regular or mini size but I’m so happy I went with the mini. They are oversized enough but not too overpowering for my face.
For the winter season, I have paired these sunglasses with a lavender turtleneck, black puffer vest, faux leather leggings, pom pom hat, and velvet sneakers.
These sunglasses will definitely take me from winter to summer!

Hey girl! So glad you’re here for my first post on Likely Lex. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a 20 something year old, fashion and lifestyle blogger from Upstate New York. I work as a graphic designer and live with my boyfriend in our small downtown apartment.

I am so excited to start sharing my life and passions with you! I have always been interested in fashion, choosing my outfits at age 3, even if that meant going to pre-school in a tutu. My parents and sister have been my biggest supporters and they are a big part of why I’m starting to live out my dream.

For my first post, I wanted to share a classic look and something that’s very Likely Lex πŸ˜‰ I’m a true lover of a basic tee and jeans. It’s comfy and casual but is a staple outfit every closet needs. I am also currently obsessed with these Golden Goose dupes. If you know me, which you will get to :), I am a HUGE fan of a good steal. I love a trendy piece for a great price.

Through this blog, I hope to help all women love where they are and feel comfortable in their own skin. I will always be open and honest with you guys and hope to meet every one of my readers through meet and greets or through online conversation. Make sure to check me out on Instagram at @LikelyLex! Have a great day πŸ™‚
