Happy Weekend babes! Every year when spring roles around I go to look at my shoes for the season and I always have a desire for something new. So that’s why this year I decided to invest in my shoe game for spring!
My mom and sister have and always will be my shoe goals but I’m starting to catch up 🙂 They just always find the best deals and the cutest shoes to pair with their outfits. So I thought I would bring a little bit of their inspo to this post.
The reason I’m loving all of these shoes for spring is because they are either a classic or can be carried into summer. Converse, to me, are always in style. They are a universal sneaker and can be paired with almost anything.
Also, a classic black sandal will get you through many seasons and a lot of outfits. I love these Steve Madden Greece sandals, not only are they a dupe, BUT, they look good with everything.
I seriously can’t wait to start wearing these shoes in the next couple of weeks. I’ll keep you posted on when the snow finally melts here in New York and I can break out these babies.
I’ve wanted to do a Target haul for awhile and I’m so excited to be sharing my finds with you. This haul consists of different things I either needed to replace or was out of. Whenever I run out of a product I’ve been using for awhile, I am always eager to try something new. Plus, that allows me to share more with you!
This Kristen Ess Signature Finishing Spray is my go-to. I have been using this hairspray for a while and I love it. It is a buildable spray which I love because it allows me to work it in while still styling my hair.
Ok, so I don’t know how I have lived my life so far without this brush. For someone who has grown up with naturally curly hair and has battle with the brush, this is a life changer for me. This Wet Brush Detangler is seriously amazing. It’s super light and brushes through my hair so easily, even after getting out of the shower with curly wet hair. This is a must have!
One thing I love to do is experiment with makeup products. I have my favorite lines and brands but I love trying out new products. The highlighter I purchased is Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter is so pretty. It smells like the beach and goes on so light. One thing I don’t like is a cake highlighter and this is far from it. I also needed a new highlighter brush since mind just recently snapped in half (insert annoyed face). I decided to purchase the Sonia Kashuk Contour/Highlighter kit. I love how easy to handle the brushes are and they are just what I need to complete my looks.
I have to say purchasing a new mascara is hard for me because this is the one product I don’t normally change. I decided to try the Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara and I’m so happy I did. It is so comparable to more expensive brands and makes my lashes so long and full!
Two other items I purchased are the Essie Treat Love & Color nail polish and SGX NYC The Brunette Tint of Color Dry Shampoo. First, I absolutely love this nail polish. You can’t go wrong with Essie, ever. And this nail polish treats your nails while wearing it! Second, I struggle to find dry shampoo that I like. Because my hair is so dark, I definitely need one with a tint for brunettes. So far I am loving this one from SGX NYC!
Comment below if you have tried any of these products and let me know your thoughts! Also, if there is anything you’d like to see me review, send it my way.
Have you ever found that one dress you wear on repeat and then can’t get enough of? Well I have found THAT dress! This Leith dress comes in so many different colors and can be worn for so many occassions.
I’ve always been really into trying to create different outfits with all of the pieces in my closet. I don’t know why but I’m not a fan of repeating the same outfit but LOVE repeating certain pieces and styling it in a different way. As a girl who is often on a budget, talk about student loans and rent 😦 I’ve always had to find ways to change up my wardrobe using what I’ve got.
In look one, I decided to just pair the dress with earrings and heels. It’s perfect for date night or even a more causal wedding.
For look two, I paired the dress with a cardigan and blush mules. This simple, casual look is comfy enough for travel and perfect for a day out shopping with your girls.
Finally, for look three I paired this Leith dress with a jean shirt, sequin sneakers and a ball cap. This look is perfect for exploring a new city, cheering at a baseball game or brunch with your babe.
I hope that these looks will help you look at your closet in a different way. Try finding those staple pieces that you have and see how many different ways you can style it. It’s a fun challenge that will keep you loving everything in your closet.
Happy Monday babes! I hope you all had a great weekend. Starting this week off sharing some of my favorite workout gear from Old Navy.
I’ve always tried different brands of activewear and have found it to be another part of my life that I love to style. A few years ago, I purchased activewear from Old Navy and from them I was sold. They always have the cutest pieces, vibrant colors, and tops and bottoms that can be work all different ways.
If you can’t tell, I’m really ready for spring. These bright colors have me in the mood for warm weather and sunshine. One of my favorite things about the warmer weather is that I can’t take my workouts outdoors. I love going to a long walk or jog, I sometimes even do my strength training or yoga outside.
Styling and creating outfits for your workout can motivate you. I find that when I feel good in what I’m wearing, I’m ready to get my workout on and SWEAT. If you’re having trouble finding the motivation to workout in this side winter slump, try finding some activewear pieces that give you confidence. You never know unless you try. 🙂
For Christmas my Aunt gifted my boyfriend and I a weekend away at the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia, NY. Prior to this trip, I had never visited Cazenovia or the Brewster Inn, but was familiar with the area, as I went to college not far away.
This trip couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as I was in major need of a weekend away and some time to relax. When we arrived at the Inn, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. My first thought was “I totally feel like I’m in a Hallmark movie right now!” haha.
The Inn is full of rich history, nestled on Cazenovia Lake, and has a full wine cellar. Not sure it gets much better than that! During our stay we were able to take a tour of the wine cellar which is home to thousands of wines from across the country. We of course purchased a bottle to bring home with us, as a memory to keep from our trip.
I would highly recommend staying at the Brewster Inn if you’re in the Cazenovia or Central New York area. The town is filled with cute shops, the restaurant in the Inn is amazing and the view of the lake is breathtaking. This was surely a trip we will never forget.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
To be completely honest, I totally dropped the ball on Valentine’s Day this year. Work has been so busy and it seems like the weekends fly by. Anyone else feeling this way? If you are, I have rounded up some last minute gifts for everyone on your list. You can shop all of these goodies at Target!
I am so obsessed with the Rosé candle. I mean come on! A candle that smells like wine?! It doesn’t get much better than that. I’m also thinking about grabbing the coupons for the bf. They have cute date ideas on them and it’s kind of like a gift for me too 😉
I’ve always found Valentine’s Day to be special. Not because I’ve always had someone to share it with, but because I’ve always felt like you really can feel the love in the air.
How will you be spending your day or evening? If you don’t have plans, make time for yourself. Get out your favorite candle, buy yourself some pretty blooms (who says girls can’t buy flowers for themselves?), pour a glass of wine, put on your favorite tunes and set some time aside to love yourself. You’ll be so glad you did. Happy Valentine’s Day babes.

At the start of the New Year, I made a promise to myself to start loving the city I live in. I have lived in New York my whole life and have had moments of wanting to get as far away as I could but also moments of not wanting to ever leave.
I’ve spent time traveling across the country, started my college career down south, and have been to different parts of the state, but my heart has always called me back home.
I moved up to the Albany area about a year ago and my life changed in so many ways. I met my boyfriend about a week after moving here, lived in different apartments, changed jobs, and met new friends. I couldn’t be happier with the decision I made to start my own life here.
My journey to start loving and experiencing my city more started with State Street. At the heart of the city, this street is home to different shops, restaurants, hotels and ballrooms. As you reach the top, there’s an amazing view of the Capitol Building.
I challenge you, if you have ever felt this way, to find things that you love about your city. Branch out and try a new restaurant, shop in a new store and grab a drink at the trendiest bar. You never know what you’ll find or fall in love with 🙂
